Hyndburn Conservatives announce Lancashire County Council candidates

Hyndburn Conservatives have announced their candidates for the 2013 Lancashire  County Council elections. The candidates were selected by local party members at a series of meetings.  ON THURSDAY MAY 2nd, All 84 seats on the Lancashire County Council are up  for re-election this year, including all of those seats representing the six LCC electoral wards in Hyndburn.

After nearly thiry years of Labour control of the Lancashire County Council, the 2009 elections saw the number of Labour Councillors fall to only 16 seats,  with the Conservative vote more then doubling to 51 seats.  And even though  Lancashire County Council Conservatives have only been in control for the past  four years, the whole County has been far better off as a direct result of that fact.  This year we hope to continue bringing all the benefits and improvements which every person across Lancashire deserves, for many more years to come.

After the 2005 elections, all six LCC wards in Hyndburn were held by Labour councillors, but the 2009 elections saw one new  Independant and two new Conservative councillors, as Labour lost control of half the seats in Hyndburn at the same time as they lost control of the whole County council, to the Lancashire Conservatives !
